Now, Hyundai will be giving a mid-life facelift to the Tucson in an attempt to keep themselves relevant in the competition. The Hyundai Tucson facelift was first unveiled at the New York International Auto Show. The Tuscon facelift features quite some changes on the outside. Firstly, it gets Hyundai’s new cascade grille upfront with a majorly redesigned bumper that looks much sharper than before and gets new fog lamp housings with LED DRLs. The headlamp cluster has also been redesigned with newer details and it looks much smarter now. The side profile remains largely similar but it gets newly designed alloy wheels. At the rear, there’s a new tail lamp cluster and minor revisions to the lower bumper. The interiors of the Hyundai Tucson facelift see a more comprehensive makeover. It gets a new floating touchscreen infotainment system instead of the previous dashboard integrated screen. The design layout has also been changed with the AC vents now sitting below the infotainment screen. The steering wheel and the lower dashboard, however, remain unchanged but it gets a new, cleaner instrument cluster as well. It’s also expected to get some new features in the form of wireless charging, a Krell sound system and Hyundai’s Bluelink connected car technology.

The Tucson will continue with its current powertrains, but will of course be upgraded to meet the BS-VI emission norms. The Tucson get a 2.0L petrol and a 2.0L diesel engine. The former produces 155PS of power and 192Nm of peak torque while the latter puts out 185PS and 400Nm. Internationally, the diesel engine gets a 48V mild-hybrid system and Hyundai might just offer that in India as well. Both engines will continue with the 6-speed manual/6-speed automatic gearbox options as it currently gets. The Hyundai Tucson is currently priced between Rs 18.77 lakh to Rs 26.97 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The facelifted version is expected to see a minor increment in prices and it is expected to go on sale by November this year. The Hyundai Tucson rivals the likes of the Jeep Compass, Volkswagen Tiguan and the MG Hector.
